…there are still two months until Election Day, and any number of unforeseen circumstances could lead to dramatic changes in polling. In fact, at the same point in the 2016 election cycle, former Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton was leading in national polls against Trump.

Biden’s lead over Trump is the steadiest on record… The polls are reflective of a race that barely budges even after two conventions, protests and unrest in some cities over police brutality and as the nation navigates the coronavirus pandemic. Indeed, the stability of this race is record breaking when looking at polling dating back to 1940.

Joe Biden’s lead in Texas is no more. President Donald Trump is now ahead of the democratic nominee by two points—48 to 46 percent—among likely voters, according to a poll by the Dallas Morning News and the University of Texas at Tyler… On the national level, things are still looking quite good for Biden as he holds a 10-point lead among likely voters over Trump, according to a new CBS News poll carried out by YouGov.

At most any school site in California, you’ll find the informational technology staff prepping laptops and programming systems for learning remotely and office staff registering and keeping track of students every day to make sure they are engaged in distance learning. You’ll encounter security and maintenance departments striving to keep buildings safe and ready for students to return, observe custodians cleaning areas where their colleagues work, and you just might smell the fresh meals being prepared for distribution to students and the community, either on campus or delivered by bus drivers.

There’s a fair bit of evidence that cafeteria workers, as adults, are more at risk from the pandemic than the children they serve. Yet their safety has gone largely unmentioned. And considering the poor working conditions, low wages, and lack of benefits that have characterized their job for years, cafeteria workers stand to take one of the biggest hits if more schools have outbreaks.

Everyone involved in the new school year — students, parents, teachers, school staff and administrators — is doing so in a remarkably fraught atmosphere of masks, mandates and an undeniable edge of fear… These people are not just going through the motions of preparing for another school year. They know that they will be at the absolute forefront of whatever danger is posed by bringing students back into the classroom.

White co-optation can overshadow those involved in grassroots efforts, and it creates the illusion that “everyone was part of this movement the whole time,” he said. After the dust settled in the 1970s and public opinion shifted, everyone claimed to have been a civil rights activist.

This is a narrative that repeats itself with depressing regularity. It will only change once white people permanently commit themselves to the idea that Black lives matter.

If White people truly want to be effective allies to the freedom struggle, they need to quickly move away from center stage. Otherwise a generational opportunity could be lost over well-intentioned but misguided “help” from antifa activists, walls of moms and practitioners of naked yoga.

Whether it is the visual of a black hat-bedecked Stoudemire sitting at a table with a pile of Seforim next to him, or taking a stroll through Mamilla in Jerusalem with his shirt untucked and a cigar in his hand (we’ve all been there), or whether it’s his visits to a Haredi Bais Din in Bnei Brak, or his description of how Torah learning and praying three times daily has changed his life, I find myself captivated by his story like none other I can remember.

Unfortunately, many Jews do not take the time that Stoudemire has devoted to learning about Judaism. They likely hail from much better backgrounds than he. Amar’e Stoudemire, whose Hebrew name when called up to the Torah is Jehoshaphat Ben Abraham, is a role model for the Jewish community.

Former NBA All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire said there is a “lack of leadership” in the Black community that has led to expressions of anti-Semitism, and he has offered to bridge the gap between Jews and Blacks… In January, Stoudemire in an Instagram post called for an end to anti-Semitism among Blacks in response to a stabbing attack on a rabbi’s home in Monsey, New York, days earlier during a Hanukkah celebration.

All the “rioting” at all the summer protests combined have done far less damage than a single gender reveal party.

The problem of defining life has haunted planetary scientists ever since Nasa’s two Viking landers touched down on Mars in 1976. Since then, rovers have travelled dozens of miles over the Martian plains but found no hint of life. Would we know it if we saw it, though?

For decades, even before Sojourner, we sent other missions to the Red Planet. Don’t they all look for life and, if so, shouldn’t we have found it by now? The answer is a solid…kind of. On Earth, it’s difficult to imagine NOT being able to find life. Life is almost everywhere on our planet and we’re finding it in more places we didn’t expect to – one of the reasons we hope we’ll find it on Mars.

No one expects to find the Martian equivalent of dinosaur fossils, shark teeth or seashells. If life arose on Mars, it likely resembled what existed on early Earth — single-cell microbes in oceans, lakes and rivers.

Even on Earth, these microscopic organisms did not leave behind recognizable fossils. The evidence of this ancient life is difficult to discern and sharply debated.
