…what is crucial in this tense geopolitical standoff is not necessarily what Biden’s position is, but what Beijing thinks it is. The US seems now to have less a policy of strategic ambiguity than one of strategic confusion.
President Biden’s declaration on Monday that the United States would defend Taiwan if China attacks is just the latest sign he is shifting U.S. policy toward confronting and containing the Communist nation. That’s the right approach, and he needs to rearm faster and maintain U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods to make it stick.
Iranian Revolutionary Guard Colonel Hassan Sayad Khodayari was assassinated on Sunday. Many believe that the assassination was carried out by Israel though Israel has not claimed responsibility.
If Israel did order the assassination, one can learn that Jerusalem does not limit the campaign against these Iranian efforts only to the so-called “campaign between the wars” [.] In this respect, it is a clear signal to Iran – and a very direct one at that, saying that Tehran will be made to pay for its action, even on its own soil.
It was not the first successful assassination conducted by foreign forces on Iranian soil, making it seem the regime is struggling to thwart them, which in turn may also embolden the opposition elements at home.
The picture that emerges is that Iran is more vulnerable than in the past. While the regime’s proxies have grown in power in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq and Syria, the regime itself appears hollow.
Actress, model, and author Noa Tishby (below), in her new capacity as Israel’s Special Envoy for Combating Antisemitism and the Delegitimization of Israel, stated that the amount of attention paid to the death of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh can be explained by antisemitism.
It’s been a week since the horrific death of Shireen Abu Akleh. It was NOT an execution or a targeted assassination. Sadly journalist are killed around the world every week, without the same global reaction. This is the antisemitic double standard.

Israel is not covering itself with glory with its behavior in the West Bank. Certain aspects of the situation there are pretty much impossible to defend and not justified by security. If you behave this way, be prepared for the consequences. You are going to look bad, and it isn’t about antisemitism.

Cases of Monkeypox have been reported in clusters in Europe and the US. The disease seems to be mostly spread through sexual contact and has been known to be fatal.
This is concerning, but no reason for anyone to panic. The global response to these case clusters is so far working as it should.
